About Us

Why we built a free Mid Day Meal calculator for school staff.

🍽️ Our Mission

PM POSHAN Calculator was created with one simple goal: to save the time of the teachers and school staff who run the Mid Day Meal programme every single day. Across India, lakhs of schools prepare a hot cooked meal for children under the PM POSHAN (Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman) scheme. The people responsible for it — Headmasters, MDM In-charges, cooks-cum-helpers and Cluster Resource Coordinators — already carry a heavy workload. Calculating the exact cooking cost and the quantity of rice, dal, vegetables and oil for the number of children present, day after day, is one more task that eats into teaching time. We built this tool to make that task take seconds instead of minutes.

🎯 What We Do

Our calculator turns a daily chore into a few taps. You select the date, enter how many students were present in each category, and the tool instantly produces a clean, class-wise report: the cost of each ingredient, the total cooking cost, the average cost per child and the total rice needed. It follows the day-wise menu automatically, applies the correct rate for the date you choose, and even detects the days on which a nutrition-rich laddoo is served. Reports can be exported as PDF or Excel for your MDM register and monthly reporting.

🤝 Who It Is For

The tool is built first and foremost for the people in the field. It is mobile-first, so it works well on an ordinary Android phone with a touch keyboard. It needs no login, no installation and no internet-heavy features — once the page loads, the maths happens right on your device. Whether you are a primary school teacher in a remote village, a Headmaster managing several hundred students, or a CRCC reviewing reports across a cluster, the calculator is designed to fit the way you already work.

🔒 Our Commitment to Privacy

We respect the privacy of every user. The student counts and figures you enter are processed entirely in your browser and are not sent to or stored on our servers. We keep the tool free by displaying advertising, and we are transparent about how that works in our Privacy Policy.

📈 How We Keep Improving

Government rates and policies under PM POSHAN are revised periodically. We monitor these changes and update the tool so that the figures stay aligned with the latest norms. We also listen to feedback from teachers and school staff — many small improvements to the layout, the steppers and the export format have come directly from users. If you have a suggestion or spot something that can be made better, we would love to hear from you through our Contact page.

⚠️ Important Note

PM POSHAN Calculator is an independent tool and is not an official Government of India or State Government website. The figures it produces are helpful estimates meant to support your daily work, and important values should always be verified against official circulars. Please read our Disclaimer for full details.
